What started out as a passion for people and a love for music, soon turned into an amazing
career of creating one of a kind events for couples, families, businesses and communities.
My name is Mark and I am the owner/operator of DMC Entertainment.

At the age of 20, while still trying to figure out where I fit in the ever changing world, I answered
a classified ad looking for wedding dj’s. Little did I know, applying for that job would turn into a
career that has spanned over 20 years now.

From the moment I shadowed my first wedding reception, I immediately fell in love. It was
everything I was looking for! A chance to help people, a way to incorporate my love of music,
and an outlet to use my creativity and artistry in a way I never knew existed.

Working for that company, my hunger for more knowledge, additional trainings, and becoming
an expert in the field was insatiable.

Taking courses and classes outside of the company, attending conferences and honing my
skills as a communicator, planner, coordinator, mixer, and more. By year 6, I knew I had outgrown the casual, cookie cutter, traditional nature of what most companies were doing.

And decided to start DMC Entertainment.

It was important to me to really be an advocate for the couples I had the privilege to serve. And
to help those who had never planned an event before. It was also important for me to really
have a relationship with the clients I served. I wanted them to be able to trust that I had their best interest at heart. I famously tell people that I start with clients and end with friends. So, I started meeting with clients and couples before they booked. By doing this, they could feel one hundred percent confident in who they were booking. Because, when clients book a DJ, they’re not just booking speakers, or a microphone, or music. They’re booking a person. Someone who is going to work closely with them at one of the most important events of their lives. Someone who is going to speak and play music over
amplified sound to, in the case of weddings, their closest family and friends. And, there needs
to be a level of trust with that.

I also wanted to help clients put all the pieces of their day together. Help them find vendors,
create timelines that flow and work for their guest counts, and help them avoid areas that were
going to be a money pit or not contribute to the success of their event. So, I started working
with clients early on in the planning process. Guiding them to vendors, ideas, and trends that
would make the biggest impact. Because, while my role at an event varies, one thing always remains constant. Everything at an event has an effect on everything else. Clients want their guests to have the best time, they want it to be stress-free, and they want it to be meaningful. By helping them find the right
vendors, put together the right timeline, and put the pieces together, the better the entire event
flows. The more the guests have fun, the less stressed the client is, the more everyone is
invested in the day. And as an added bonus, the more fun everyone has, the later guests stay
and the more memories are made together.

Along the way, the more I got to know the clients I served, the more creative and personalized
the events became. The more I was doing, the more coordination it took with other vendors to
make the day the biggest success. Which lead to putting together timelines, coordinating with
other vendors ahead of time, doing walkthroughs and collaborations. Which then led to
becoming a catch all for clients. The more I was coordinating with others beforehand, the more
hiccups I caught and was able to problem solve before the event. It became an additional
peace of mind for my clients.

Now, 16 years into owning DMC Entertainment, I’ve created this amazing process that has
created perfect, handcrafted, stress-free events that leave clients and guests speechless. And,
I’ve been able to be a part of and witness some truly amazing moments. From silly and
exciting, to tearfully and beautifully special, I’m proud to say I was able to help create. I have the absolute best job in the world. I get to help people tell their stories for a living! And, it continues to be the biggest privilege of my life. Because, for me, it’s not business, it’s personal. Dj’ing is even how I met my wife! I’d love to get some coffee with you and see how we can create your dream day into reality.
